Crazy

Life continues to be time consuming and crazy.  I’ve managed to try out two of the Starwars: The old republic stress test betas and they were very exciting.  The first time my wife was sick so I juggled both kids all weekend but slipped in some play time here and there.  The other was Thanksgiving break weekend but I was out of town so not much play time but I did have fun trying out the smuggler that time.

Work is crazy with me trying to juggle the web admin’s responsibility with my infrastructure ones.  Especially challenging since the infrastructure still needs so much work.The company is doing better though, despite some uncertainty with the  umbrella corporation it isn’t too bad.

I finally got my plates for my newest baby (my car) and they look great :)

This is my Hyundai Genesis Coupe, which I absolutely love.  I hope to do some mods to it in the near future, right now I’ve just replaced all the inside lighting and plate lighting with LED :)   I used Blue in the cabin which goes well with the rest of the blue.  This is my first time getting personalized plates, and after I got this car I knew I wanted to.

Christmas is coming up on us fast, need to hurry up and buy presents for the nieces/nephews.  Already picked up a few things for my son anyways.  Hopefully going to go get the tree this weekend, maybe put up some lights if I can find the energy.  Energy is what I’ve been lacking lately though.

Chatty

Got off the phone with my wife and got to hear Sadie already working on being a little chatter box :)  At 3 months she continues to work on her Olympic training!  James stopped in long enough to ask me to come visit him and see his friend, then went off to have ice cream.

Finally got some stuff done today I had been procrastinating like putting the plates on my car, setting up payment for my car, and paying a few other bills. Did my work out and ate a nice light dinner, feeling pretty good after all that.  Actually got something done today!

Been listening to Evanescence’s new album all day today.  This is self titled album that is absolutely exceptional.  There isn’t a song I didn’t instantly like, and like half of them I can just listen to over and over they are so cool :)  My favorites right now are “What You Want”, “The Change”, “My Heart is Broken”, “Erase This”, “Oceans”, “New Way to Bleed” and “Secret Door”.   But yes, like they are all awesome :)

And to spice up the post a bit, here is a picture of the moon I took, I think this one turned out to be from 2 nights ago I didn’t like any of the ones I took tonight.  So this is a nearly full moon.

The Dragon

I googled the Dragon Horoscope and read one I never had before.

Some of the interesting things about it was the block in it about Dragon Careers.

THE DRAGON AT WORK

The Dragon’s originality is the most impressive and outstanding of all his characteristics. The Dragon is quite imaginative and always able to see new paths where others may run into brick walls. Dragons are very adaptable and are fit for various occupations, especially if those occupations allow him to take the limelight. In any of these occupational situations, the Dragons will take a radical approach. Dragons work hard, but would rather give orders than receive them. They should avoid jobs that encompass too much routine, and should move toward jobs in which their self-reliance can be an asset.

I find it interesting how well that applies to being a systems administrator :)  Certainly nothing routine about what I do, and do I always have to come up with creative solutions to problems. I’ve also always been a self starter, self motivated employee.

FINANCE AND THE DRAGON

Dragons like to spend money and are charitable themselves as well as with others. They do not know the meaning of the word “accumulate,” and making money does not intrigue them as it may others. Many Dragons will take big chances with their finances, sometimes betting on their shirt and losing it right off of their backs. Yet, they were born with the Midas Touch, and it very rare that a Dragon remains poor for long. Dragons will always be straightforward in financial dealings and can always be trusted.

The other one I found amusing was the finance notes.  While these days my wife and kids often spend much of the money I certainly have always been one of those guys that likes to spend money, especially on gadgets, and more recently my new Genesis Coupe :)  My wife has always thought I was a generous man too so that fits too apparently.

Free Time

Yes I have so much free time! Err actually right now I kind of do with the wife and kids out of town but that is besides the point! I totally did mean to work on the blog now and then but it kept getting pushed back and here we are two weeks later!

Since that time my wife and kids left town to visit family and friends, one of my co-workers got let go, I got a tattoo, Steve Jobs passed away and it rained!  (hey rain is  big deal in San Diego)

Initially I was pretty excited I was going to have some time to recover from the long painful pregnancy my wife had.  Yes it is was much worse on her of course, but this is still one pooped papi!  Of course after they left though I almost immediately didn’t know what to do with myself.  I don’t remember that happening before but I guess I finally got accustom to not having any free time lol So to compensate I’ve done almost nothing for some reason.  Tried to get some rest at times, ended up working too much because there isn’t any reason to come home.  Haven’t even had a lot of urge to play WoW lately either.  Then to make matters worse at work they let go the other admin so until we get another one I get to do double duty which isn’t fun.

I followed up on one of my midlife goals the of September and got a tattoo.  The purpose of the tattoo is to serve as a reminder as time goes on not to fall back into my pattern of complicity and actually try to live!  I figured what better way than something you can’t get rid of :)  (well technical you can replace it with scar tissue from a laser now)  The tattoo is actually of a celtic dragon on my upper left shoulder, maybe I’ll upload a picture after it is all good.  One of the reason I choose a dragon was because that is the chinese year I was born.  It is suppose to be lucky and only comes once every 12 years. Now it isn’t like I believe in astrology or anything but when you see and hear these things your whole life you do at least think about them :)  Dragons are suppose to have all these great qualities, though I didn’t exhibit much of these qualities.  So in choosing a dragon I also hope to remind myself to take on some of those qualities.  A dragon also fits in with my life time interest in fantasy, and the celtic is well because I’m of celtic origin :)

I was quite sad to hear Steve Jobs passed away.  I hope he went as peacefully as one possibly can.  He certainly made a profound impact on this world in his time her.  I type this post in Safari, on OSX Lion, on a Mac Pro while listening to music on iTunes :) His passing has brought up a lot of feelings about my Grandpa’s death.  I miss him a lot and think about him daily.  I only wish he would have lived long enough to meet my son who we named after him.

Well this is now a bit wordy but what the heck! Hope to get some time this weekend to improve appearance and such.  Why you might ask?  Why not I say!
